The Black & White Hiking Trail

Maybe hiking is more your speed? Did you know there's an 8.7 mile hike than can take you from Black Mountain of Maine to the top of Rumford's Whitecap mountain and vice/versa? Just make sure you've left a car on one side or the other, as the trail doesn't "loop". The Whitecap side is meticulously maitainted by our friends at Mahoosuc Land Trust (their map courtesy below). For detailed information on the Whitecap side, visit Mahoosuc Land Trust. To access the Black & White hiking trail from the parking lot at Black Mountain, hike up the Novice Chairlift to Upper Sunday ski trail. About 100 yards beyond the top of the chairlift (on Upper Sunday) you'll see the sign on the right for the Black & White Trail.
