Uphill Policy
Black Mountain of Maine welcomes uphill skiing, split-boarding & snowshoeing at our resort. For everyone's safety, we ask that you adhere to the policy as described below:
• All uphill travel is done at each individual's own risk.
•  Individuals must have a seasons pass or a day ticket. If you are not riding the lift, you will purchase an uphill day ticket for $10 at our ticket window
• The uphill route is to be determined on a daily basis by Ski Patrol. Please check our trail report HERE for the day's current route.
• You must ensure that you remain visible at all times to downhill skier traffic.
• Uphill traffic is only allowed from 9am-4pm.
• Ski Patrol clears the mountain of all guests at the end of the operating hours and all skiers will be asked to  descend at this time.
• Management or Ski Patrol reserves the right to cancel or limit these uphill activities for safety reasons at their discretion.
• Black Mountain of Maine does not recommend the use of the ski trails during non-operational hours and/or operational days, due to the use of grooming equipment, snowmaking equipmen, snowmobile traffic and various other hazards.
• Note: This uphill policy is not applicable to users of the Black & White hiking trail.
Skier & Rider Responsibility Code
• Always stay in control, and be able to stop or avoid other people or objects.
• People ahead of you have the right of way. It is your responsibility to avoid them.
• You must not stop where you obstruct a trail, or are not visible from above.
• Whenever starting downhill or merging into a trail, look uphill and yield to others.
• Always use devices to prevent runaway equipment.
• Observe all posted signs & warnings. Keep off closed trails & out of closed areas.
• Prior to using any lift, you must have the knowledge & ability to load, ride and unload safely.
