New Paint & Smoother Trails!

Exciting projects are happening this summer at Black Mountain of Maine! We started painting by the lodge exterior in early May & we are nearly complete. The trim color was changed from blue to "Tuxedo", a color that borders somewhere between black, brown & grey, sounds pretty snazzy huh? We like to think of it as an upscale "woodsy" look. We love the color change & think you will too.

Now let's talk skiing. As you recall, a few years back we expanded by adding 3 "hike to" trails accessed from the top of the lift. The Bagaduce, Wesserunsett and the Saco.  With the help from a Recreational Trails Program Grant, major cosmetic work is now underway on 2 of these trails. The grant is enabling us to excavate, de-stump, seed & hay the Saco & Bagaduce. Let's just say HUGE transformation. Needless to say.

We're excited for ski season. Are you? Time to get your pass

On March 5th, courtesy of an anonymous donor, Black Mountain of Maine & Gorham Bike & Ski hosted The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital's children, families & staff to the mountain for an entirely free day of happiness and fun. It was a beautiful spring like day with amazing conditions & the sky was perfectly blue. Over 60 people attended the event, both familes & employees of the hospital, many of whom had never visited us before. Our team of volunteers came out in large numbers to help out and simply be part of this special day.

We are ecstatic to announce that we have received another donation from the same anonymous individual & will be hosting this event again in March of 2021.

"The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital is Maine's only place for world class care. On a kid's level. The hospital is large enough to provide all the advanced specialty services & state-of-the-art technology a child may need, but yet they remain small enough to deliver personalized care." They "treat children like children."
